Fast & Sustainable Weight Loss with These Carbs
Fast weight loss-It’s what we all want, but if you lose in a way that can’t be sustained, you’ll never be happy. For fast AND sustainable weight loss eat these carbs.
When you realize you have to lose weight, you want to get it off fast.
But, if you’re taking the weight off in a way that can’t be sustained, you’ll find yourself right back at the same point next month.
If you want to transform your body, you need to think fast AND sustainable weight loss.
To do that you have to give your body the nutrients it needs for the fewest calories.
When your body isn’t being fed a nutritious diet, it stimulates your appetite to force you to eat more.
Getting high nutrient foods for few calories comes down to learning how to pick the right carbs.
SUGAR—————————–GRAINS——————————–VEGETABLES
Sugar is one type of carbohydrate.
Sugar was once a plant (probably sugar cane) that was ground down and refined until all of the nutrients were removed, except for the calories.
Starches or grains are other types of carbohydrates.
These types of carbs have been refined, but note as much as table sugar. So, some nutrients (i.e. vitamins, minerals, and fiber) have been retained making the nutrient to calorie ratio of grains better than sugar.
Non-starchy vegetables are also carbohydrates.
These are special carbs because they’re not refined at all, and naturally low in calories. They have a very good nutrient to calorie ratio.
Which carbs to avoid and which ones to eat:
AVOID SUGAR: Sugar is a diet destroyer. When you eat it you give your body a lot of calories, but your body is still hungry because sugar doesn’t give it the nutrients it’s looking for.
For fast and sustainable weight loss, you want to avoid sugary foods, which I call the 3C’s – Cookies, Cakes & Candies as well as sugary soft drinks.
Also, watch out for packaged foods with hidden sugars. If sugar is one of the top three ingredients, don’t eat it.
LIMIT GRAINS: You want to limit starchy foods, like grains. While they do provide some nutrients, if you overdo it on bread, cereals, and noodles, you’ll slow down your weight loss.
EAT A LOT: The carbs to focus on for fast and sustainable weight loss are the non-starchy vegetables. With these carbs, the more you eat, the more you lose.
Two cups of steamed non-starchy vegetables add barely 80 calories to your day, yet contain the vitamins and minerals your body needs to lose weight fast and keep it off.
